Goodness I'm excited - new job, new job!!
I'm also scared as I have to relocate not just myself but my horses to completely new part of the country.

So, I'm looking for a livery yard within about a 5-10 mile radius of Windsor.

I have 2 horses,
** Year round turnout (or as near to year round as possible) is a really high priority. They could even be on grass livery.
**As is nice, knowlegeable people. I currently look after them myself but would be needing full livery, so I want to be sure they are getting good care!
**Good hacking is pretty essential too. Much as I like pony dancing and jumping I also like to take them out for a hack too.

Am I being too picky? Has anyone got any recommendations? I won't be moving for a few months but I'd love some suggestions so I can visit before I make The Big Move!!

eeeek!

My ex used to live in Windsor and kept her horses on a place in Staines, belonging to a woman called Anne. Not sure I would have kept mine there, it's a VERY old farm, practically antique, so quite a few of the stables are rather oddly shaped or converted from other types of stalls/boxes etc, but all of the horses were well taken care of, there was regular turn-out, schools, jumping area, etc. If you're not looking for the Ritz, it might be worth a glance. There's also a couple of very smart looking places up around Royal Holloway university, if you drive around you should be able to see them.

Hacking-wise, definitely worth investing in a permit to ride in Windsor Great Park!!!

Ohhh, thank you for the tips. Not being a big city gal I'll probably drive straight past as I'll be concentrating on the roads so much, but I'll have a look around RH Uni.

I'm not bothered about old/wonky buildings, or being somewhere smart, I just need the right care for them - and obviously at a price I can afford. I would definitely choose wonky shaped stables and personal care over smart and 'factory' care. But hopefully I can find both :)

Thank you again, I really appreciate the guidance.

Hi, I am at Sunningdale Park which is on the boarder of Sunningdale and Ascot. Fab facilities, inc big school, separate lunge pen, loads of SJ which get put out in field in summer and hacking just 10 mins road road ride from Great Windsor Park and about 20 mins from Chobham Common. Individual turn out, and top notch care. My boy has been there for about 18 months and I have never seen him so happy. She offers assisted DIY (only 4 of us) part livery and all extras if required (riding, lunging, teaching etc etc). If you want the phone number let me know. Oh and we are 10 mins max from RH Uni.

Wrote a post but got deleted :(

taplow/burnham:

one behind huntswood golf course (?)
Snowball farm- 2 indoors, full turnout, knowledgeble, hacking goodish
Boundary stables (deffo part, not sure about full?)
hill farm- pretty good i think too

Slough/langley/iver
Priory farm
barn lea
another boundary something-near wexham
White lodge stables

There are others, but theses are what i can name.
I know there are loads south of windsor too

Thank you so much everyone, I will PM tomorrow for some more information - I knew H&H would come to the rescue!

I was quite terrified earlier about having to relocate my life, but now my horses seem possible, it's not seeming so impossible.

Thank you...

I used to live in Slough but relocated to Essex a few months back, my boy was kept in Windsor.

You will be pushed to find grass livery around Windsor, pretty much all the yards are DIY or full/part liveries.

Unless you are stabled right next to the great park, the hacking isnt brilliant. I would look at Dell Park Farm or Blacknest Gate to be on the entrance to the great park (although you will probably be paying £££s to be stabled at either of these!)

Many of the yards that have been mentioned in this thread I wouldnt touch with a barge pole, if you want to PM me I would be happy to help.

Good luck!

Hello

I am looking for livery around either Windsor, Ascot, Chobham or Woking if anyone can recommend anywhere?

Needs to have all round turn out where my horse can go with other horses (he is currently out with 7 others) prefer it if he can go with at least 3 others as he becomes attached very easily! Yard must have decent hacking and facilities and excellent care where I can put my full trust in staff as I am away quite a lot with work. Outside instructors welcome also as I have my own. Part/full livery.

Please reply if you know anywhere

Thanks

Hi y'all,

I'm looking for grass livery for my horse within an 8 mile radius of Windsor with 24/7 turnout or as near as possible. I need somewhere with great grass hacking too. All the liveries I have found so far in the area have at best 8 hours turnout even in summer and only into a paddock or small field. My boy has lived out all his life and wouldn't tolerate being cooped up for long hours. At present, he is with a herd in a acreage which is super for him but the hacking is non-existent. Access to Great Park would be lovely my friend has been on the waiting list for 4 years and the waiting list is now closed! If you now of anyone who offers grass livery where there is any grass hacking advice or contacts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much.

I used to keep mine at a yard near Burnham Beeches, Jennings Farm. Back then they did 24/7 turnout and grass livery. Not sure about now! https://jenningsfarmliveryyard.com/ They also have a facebook page. Lovely Hacking but not directly on Windsor park.

Hi,

I'm looking for Assisted DIY Livery within a 10 mile radius of Windsor because my current yard is about to close. Needs to have year-round and all-day turnout and some decent off-road hacking.

Does anyone know anywhere that currently has vacancies or I could at least contact and ask? Alternatively, does anyone have or know of a yard to rent?

Please reply if you know anywhere.

Thanks

Taylor made in Cookham might have space. They're a full livery yard, hacking can be a bit pants as roadwork is necessary to get to the bridleways (not their fault, obviously). Care is good, lovely big all weather school, and they're all a friendly bunch 🙂
