Hi,
I'm moving to Scotland at short notice and need to sort out livery etc. Can anyone recommend any yards in the Prestwick/Kilmarnock area?
I will need some help like bringing in and occasional mucking out. He is unfit now but I will be eventing again and want a decent school in time. Would be so grateful for any help as I move in a week and would really like the horse to follow as soon as possible.
Also any advice on which vets and farriers to use (or not!) in the area would be much appreciated.
Thanks

I've heard that rowallan has started doing DIY livery - they're just outside Kilmarnock. other than that you could try gilrigside farm - jack mcgeoch (sp) owns it. it's about 20 minutes drive from mauchline so should be 10-15 from Kilmarnock

my parents live in mauchline :)
trying to think where else my dad looked for livery..
ayr equitation, stewarton (think it's thornhill) or if your willing to travel, hazelden in Newton mearns is a 20 minute drive

Mauchline's pretty close to me (about 6 miles). There are a few small yards dotted around there but if you need more facilities you'll have to travel a wee bit outwith the village. Parkhill Livery would be pretty close to you, or there are several yards around Galston (West Loudoun, Grassyards, Darwhilling) that are ten mins or so. You've got Drumley in Mossblown which is pretty close too and a nice yard, and there are loads more if you're willing to go a little further. PM me if you like, I can get you contacts for a lot of them.
