Livery, Southampton area

Thank you for your reply.. Sorry I took so long in getting back but I have been away. My boy is half Cob, quarter Shire and quarter Thoroughbred, 15.3 hh. I have had him since he was 18 months old and he is now 20, so very much part of my family! In fact he has been around longer than my husband!! After a car accident many years ago, I am now only a 'happy hacker'. i know the New Forest area, but am not too familiar with Southampton. How is the riding around there?

hi,

I'm also looking for livery in Southampton, for my two geldings, a 15"2hh coloured cob and a 14"2hh stunning black Welsh section D, aged 19 and 15 respectively.

if you find something not suitable for you or that you get lots of offers please bear me in mind and pass on my details.

riding in netley is stunning there being Westwood and Weston shore to ride on, hamble also has some lovely rides, swanick/park gate/sarisbury green area has holly hill which is lovely riding but very pedestrian theres also addison woods which go on for miles but are difficult to get into if you don't know the area, durley way there is lots of road work but quite nice rides nonetheless, hedge end/botley/burseldon you get the manor farm country park which is lovely to ride in but permits cost a fair bit, in wickham there is supposed to be some stunning country rides along old rail tracks and the like but i've never ridden them. not sure about anywhere else, there are some simply fantastic rides out towards and past romsey, and at chilling barn there is a beach and woodland area that is almost entirely off road but again fairly pedestrian, my boy isn't keen on dogs so its important for me to know how many people use the area lol. thats the extent of my knowledge of hacking in southampton. we were happiest hacking on the forest but live too far on the other side of southampton to be able to manage the daily drive and the DIY grass livery our horses and we prefer.
