Hi Everyone,

I'm starting to think about moving livery yards and I'm interested in suggestions/recommendations (good and bad!). I'm looking for something with a decent size school and jumps (I'm an eventer), access to decent hacking and good solid horse care with well maintained facilities. I'd also love to be somewhere where there are other eventers to do things with!

I live in SW London and I'm able to travel up to 35min. It doesn't have to be super fancy, or big, just friendly and good care. I wouldn't even mind a space in someone's personal yard (as opposed to a commercial enterprise).

I've seen Woolgars mentioned in previous posts and thought I might take a look at that. LMEQ is too far away and would require me to brave the M25!

Any suggestions would be great!

Would love to say come to my yard (near Merrist Wood) but they are full at the moment
:( It would be great to have a fellow eventer there as most of the other liveries rarely leave the ground..... On a more constructive note try googling Uden Sports Horses - they are based near Guildford (leave at the Burpham exit of the A3), a friend has a horse there and is very happy. There's lots of yards near Thursley/Elstead and Parwood is also convenient for the A3 (but a tad expensive, for me at least).

Dont know how it fits in distance wise but I can highly recommend Upper House Farm in Hascombe, I've kept my horse there on short term training livery and if I lived nearer and wanted livery (she lives at home) I would keep her there in a shot. Huge school, with jumpsand you can hack straight off the yard. They also have outside trainers in for clinics I had a jumping clinic with Kevin Woods and a dressage clinic with Bertil Voss.

Woodlands farm in Stoke Dabernon. Sarah offers a fantastic service, nothing is too much bother. Cobham turnoff A3. Big rubber outdoor and a small sand indoor, jumping fields and good hacking. Hackable to pachesham down the road.

Hi, I'm at Woodstock South Livery which is just off the Esher sliproad on the A3 going southbound. Not sure if there are any spaces at the moment, but try giving the owner Becky a call (07971005603). There are two all-weather arenas, a horsewalker, wash box and solarium, plus 24/7 turnout in the summer. Oh, and access to great hacking over Esher Common and Oxshot Heath. The yard may not look like much, but they really love the horses and take great care of them.

Cobham Park Stables and Lodge Liveries - share same facilities: indoor and outdoor school with jumps, horsewalker, lunge ring, hacking round Bookham Common and further afield.

Personally I preferred Mel at Cobham Park but take a look at both....

Bridley EC is in the area you're looking for, they have two lovely schools there and lots of turnout and hacking. I think a few of the liveries event.

I live in Wimbledon Village and sadly my OH won't pay £900 per month to keep my horse in the livery next door. I keep my boy at the bottom of Epsom Downs near Tadworth in village called Walton on the Hill. We have a bridle path on the property that takes you to the Downs which is about a 2.2 mile gallop uphill towards the grandstand. You can ride on the racecourse after midday. We also have literally hundres of miles of hacks in every which way direction wIth so many differnet heaths i cant remember them all. It takes me 30 minutes from home down the A3. Heaps of lovely places to agist but many are expensive competition yards and a bit snobby and didn't suit me.
I have part livery at Hurstfields. One new outdoor arena, jumps and x try, but we are right opposite the Mid surrey pony club which has a great x country course and the girls here tell me anyone is welcome to use it.
Hurstfields is not 5* nor does it pretend to be but it has the friendliest atmosphere and everyone is incredibly helpful, chatty and just a really good feel about the place. I've only been there over a week and feel like I've been there for ages and have made friends already. Your dogs and kids are welcome and my boy has been very well looked after to date and seems very happy. All the horses are calm, fat and much loved. My part livery is £110 per week with all feed and bedding included.
If you dont think that would suit then the Durdans in Chalk Lane is superb but about £540 per mth part livery.
I did have an extensive list of all places nearby with prices, facilities, etc as I spent weeks looking for the right place. If I can find it I'll send you a PM.
