Livery Vs Keeping Horses at Home

I expected to replace them regularly and I have a couple of dozen of them! I use an average of six a day and none of the orignal six have failed yet they're terrific! I can't tip the wheelbarrow over because I've got the boards topped with electric rope to keep a pony on it and it will catch the rope.

And it's great when friends want muck, they give me empty bags and I give them full ones back :)

I have mine at home and am next door to a livery yard and I use there arena, so I have friends there I ride with if I want to so it's not so lonely, I have 2 horses and have a few friends that come over and ride with me which is lovely.

It's the best thing I ever did I really wouldn't want to go back into a livery yard now, it's so nice being able to look at them through the window and just nip outside anytime.

We’ve had them at home since I was about 8 (20 years..!). I’ve taken it for granted as you do when you’re brought up with it! Now it’s only me really interested even with a freelancer doing a few hours in the morning and paying people to do chores where I can the maintenance is far more work than I get to spend time with the horse. We have 3 retired ponies, 2 in light work and my competition horse, I work 8-7 5.5 days a week and do very little else. Most nights I don’t get in until gone 9. Pretty sure livery would work out cheaper and certainly less time but my facilities are nice enough for what I want and I don’t have to share :p Fields that self roll in the hour suitable you get on clay and someone to hack with are my top wants!
