Hi, does anyone know of any good yards in these areas? Must have good turnout would prefer 24/7 but provided its not restricted would consider other and a decent floodlit menage also safe hacking. Prefer assisted DIY or part livery options. Thanks!

I have no idea about braintree area but I know Tiptree EC is full as I have enquired too, so I am looking at Limebrook farm in Maldon but they are Full livery.

Seems to be a few about but varying price's and facilities...have you googled?

Yeah have googled and looked in Essex Rider/Ingatestone etc - enquired at Limebrook but they do NO turnout whatsoever in winter apart from a leg stretch when they muck out and they are turned out in the indoor school as they said fields get waterlogged and as I have limited time in the week due to work I can't have him cooped up all day and besides its not fair leaving them stabled 24/7. I would have gone to Tiptree EC but as they are predominantly a riding school I assumed the facilities would be used for school activities but as they are full anyway rules that out!! Would like to hear recommendations rather than trawl the web so hopefully some people will know of anywhere good :)

Hi - i've just moved from chelmsford to colchester about 20mins drive away. i am looking at getting my own horse in the new year and been at looking at yards here. i found a nice quiet friendly yard just past tendring hundred riding club called GATES. had a great 40x40 menage and warm water wash room. Should all go to plan with my horse i'll be going here. Thought i'd let you know. Its prob a 30min drive in total for you but they only do assisted livery where you get am help so great for me. anyway just thought i'd mention it. see ya and good luck finding somewhere.:)

ahh yes I had an email from the lady of Gates saying she had space's available for assisted livery as I am trundling around too trying to find space's at a decent yard.
The yard looks lovely I must say, but they seem quite professional riders from the pictures which is great but I am not quite up there with that just yet ha ha ...have you been to see the yard? Is it really lovely and worth going to?

Hi.
Yeah just did a quick visit as still looking for a horse at the moment (if you hear of any loan wvtb around 16hh safe plod along type that can jump for local shows - but i'm still a nervous weakish rider that would be great if you could let me know). YO down to earth but has all rules in place so the yard runs really well and place so tidy was lovely to see.
Met a few liveries really friendly and down to earth and just normal riders like me so felt really happy.
Loved the hot water option and the menage was lovely and big compared to what i'm used too.
Tried other yards in the area but either not offering the assisted livery i want, or too little given for the price or wasn;t over impressed with layout, tidiness etc.
Worth a try - not many other options around here that i know of.

Essex Rider usually has a good choice of livery yards advertised you might find it difficult finding 24/7 turnout most yards shut their fields until the spring around here. D'Arcy stables might have vacancies, limbourne park near Maldon,Church House Farm Maldon, grouts farm near Tiptree,

There is a really lovely yard in Tiptree, Venn Farm. Fantastic large stables with every facility, and offer assisted if required, including horsewalker, all year turnout. Really firendly family atmosphere, clean and well run. Give them a try.

Apparently Elite equestrian in Felsted is opening up again and doing DIY, part and full livery. Will try and get details for u etc and get back to u.

The lady to contact re the yard in Felsted is Lucy leeder - 07817 367341, and it apparently open 1st May. Hope this helps and good luck.
