Hi All,
Please help,
I was at a yard with my baby and was v happy but moved because of the road it was on (not going to be safe to start her walking out) and the ragwort problems that no-one seemed to care about except me.
I love the other liveries where we are so much and the facilities and hacking are fantastic for when she is older and the stables are beautiful now but these are all nice things that we dont really NEED the one thing we do need; decent turnout, is terrible!
Actually the worst i have ever seen, there used to be 15 horses and there was fairly sufficient grazing but they not so long ago added 6 more boxes and took 2 large fields off the liveries which are now reserved for pirrelli camps which happen 2 or 3 times a year and we are not allowed to use them inbetween. So now we have 6 more horses and about 4 less acres.
They have put the horses in herds to try and accommodate the increased numbers in a smaller space but as of saturday we will have 9 mares all together, they have 2 fields, 1 of about 2 acres and 1 thats 1.5 acres and thats being generous. The mares are hungry and frustrated (we do out hay out) and they fight but it always seems to be my filly that gets the kicking!
She has had 2 nasty kicks this week and we cant seperate her because she doesnt have anywhere to go and when we have tried to section a bit of the field off she just runs around to try to get back to the rest of the herd even when we sectioned her with another 2 of the mares.
We have spoken to the owners and they refuse to give us any more space and insist that it will be ok if they fertilise next year. I just dont think so and in the meantime, the filly i bought to hopefully event is getting her legs chopped to oblivion!
I am trying to find somewhere to move her to but just dont know where.
(wow this is getting long - sorry)
Need to find somewhere close to Stourbridge, Blakedown, Churchill that has the following:
Good turnout - absolute must - ideally in small groups or at least fields that accommodate the size of group
If possible 24/7 turnout.
Then ideally -
School
Decent hacking (not main road preferably)
Good stabling ( ideally american style so she can see the other horses)
Anything else would be a bonus as would some of the above.
PLease help!!!!
Deperate mommy! xx
