I am at an amazing yard just outside of worcester- some of the best hacking I could wish for, new large stables, all year turnout (nearly mud free!) and 24/7 all year IF you want it, with a really caring YO but there is no school and my boy is rising 4 and never been in an arena so I'm looking for a DIY yard or assisted livery with a school. MUST have daily turnout.

If my current yard had a school I wouldnt be leaving but I really need to get him used to surfaces and have somewhere safe to try jumping in the spring/summer (not really possible in fields when the ground is hard) so if you know of anywhere I could try- I'd be grateful. Thanks

Which side of Worcester are you looking at? I'm hopeless with the north side, but south... There's Allencroft which is by St Peters garden centre, has a sand school but it's small and a bit slopey so it's not the best for that really.
There's Smithy's in Littleworth which I know people that have moved there just for use of a good school, so that maybe a place to try for you.
Pegasus riding school right by junction 7 have livery places, but the hacking's not so good...

I have herd bad things about.Pegasus! And I looked round but the fencing was shocking. Allencroft is 5 min hack from my current yard but is on a dodgy bit of road and I was worried once they start building those 2500 houses opposite it would be full of diggers. Thanks though. Will take a look at smithys

How about Court Farm Stud livery in Callow End? They have a good school.
My friend is at Allen Croft, that bend is quite bad but once you are round it the hacking is good with Kempsey common etc But the school is not very good at all, very deep!
There is a yard just down from there, keep going straight up the lane, it is a dog boarding place too, can't remember what it is called but they have a school so might be worth a try!

Hi thanks DRH- I am lucky that I am liverying literally on Stonehall and Kempsey common! I shall look up Court Farm Stud. Thanks !

Hi!

Any idea of ideal budget and location?

(We currently have a vacancy and the yard is everything you mentioned and more AND i'm there which has got to be a huge selling point particularly as Peej is the safest hack in the world, ideal for a babysitter!)

Hi drh, it is a u shaped yard but yes if you hack past you would see a row, the stables are new wooden ones and we are at the bottom of a bridleway that leads onto stonehall.
The two yards I like the look of were full sadly so will have to either wait or keep looking.

Having recently trawled what felt like every livery yard in Worcestershire, I think you might struggle to get all you want for £35pw :(
Your current yard sounds lovely, could you not see about hiring a school occasionally somewhere nearby? Just a thought!
Good luck! :)

I know its not a. Cheap horse area. It would only be cost effective if I could share arena hire cost with another livery at 20 pounds an hour its just too much otherwise?

Hi there. Date 2014 - I am currently looking for yards from J7 to J6 off M5. Do you know of any with a school and assisted DIY or Part Livery please?

Many thanks,

Debs
