I run a small livery yard and am trying to organise some clinics/fun events for our clients - and would love to hear of any ideas/experiences any of you have had!
Our liveries are generally happy hackers, do a bit of dressage, not really much competing.

Any ideas for something slightly different/interesting? We're in Kent in case anyone can recommend an instructor or similar!

Thanks :-)

We had a show prep clinic with one of our judges where she went over basic showing hints and tips. It was a 2 day thing, a couple of hrs chat on sat and then a mini on house show on Sunday (basically a condition and turnout class) which she ran like one of our proper shows then clear rounds and a jumping class after. Huge fun and really brought everyone together. We have also done handy pony ( its surprising how adults and horses behave while doing this!), grid work, quadrille and pub rides.

During the summer we do Dressage Anywhere (see website for details) days and Clear Round jumping :) We even have rosettes made for the jumping and then the entry covers the cost of them.

Clinics are a fantastic idea.

We are just getting ready for our 3rd one of the year in a couple of weeks.
We had our second XC clinic of the year on Saturday and it was very well attended. The format was clinic 1 - homework - then clinic 2 two weeks later. About 20 people in sessions of 1.5hrs (average 4 per group)

We will run another one at the end of April.

We have a showing clinic on April 1st that has been booked out for about 2 months. Who knew showing was so popular!

Next is a dressage clinic - format is ride a test then get feedback and work with instructor on weak points.

A sj clinic - Perfecting course riding is also in the pipeline.

A Trec organisation will also be running something in a few weeks although I have no clue what that will involve :)

About 80% -90% of liveries participate in the clinics depending on what is being covered.
We also ask for their input as to what or who they would like to have in for clinics.

Best of luck :)
