This is a shared computer and once used by my step sister who has since moved to scotland and given up horses all together, so unfortunately can't help with this! Family situation aside, this is genuine and I only came on here to ask for opinions on what I should be doing.. sorry for the confusion!
 
I would never have stayed after the first instance!! I would always be wondering what is going on at the yard, it would've made me constantly paranoid.

I also would've gone explosive on the yard... I dont think anyone wouldve not know about how angry I was.

Glad you have somewhere else you are not over-reacting at all!

Ohhhhh..... teaches me for not reading all the replies haha

If it's you then isn't it at all possible that this girl who you pay £25 a week to ride your horse has caused the damage? If so might it be that the groom who you say has done this without your permission is in fact the girl you have paid to ride your horse?

If there is a horse at all that is.

Very disappointed. I had never heard of the term "troll" in relation to a forum before and had wondered at the ferocity some of this forum members sometime attack posters they suspect of being "trolls". Sadly all is becoming a little clearer.

I just hope that if you do actually own a horse you never need proper advice about it because I suspect I speak for others who would be reluctant to either believe a word you say in future or offer any assistance.
 
Hmmmph!! Wasted my time feeling sorry for this girl, didn't I? Troll radar must be out of order tonight.

Loved the quick 'it's a shared computer and my sister used it' response. Like we haven't heard that one before..
 
I suspected she wasn't for real (esp the bit about the farrier. See my comment at the time) but really wanted to give benefit of the doubt just in case.

The trouble is, sometimes it will be a genuine distressed novice wanting help, and experiences like this mean they're not believed. :(

I think I'll try to continue to give benefit of the doubt, just in case.

After all, what do we lose by playing nicely, and sometimes they are genuine?

I really don't like the way some people jump in at the beginning of threads , saying "Troll!" as if trying to prove they're the first to spot them. Sometimes they're wrong and just cause upset to a new poster.
 
Actually quite upset i'm being accused of a troll. I have a genuine problem, which you've all stated is pretty serious but now i'm getting accused of something i'm not. Not sure how to prove i'm not a troll.. could take a photo of my username with my horse tomorrow? Just seems pathetic.
Someone said earlier that they would speak to my mum to convey the seriousness of the problem, although she already understands, she has been trying to contact horsey friends for advice, so if someone with livery yard experience does want to speak to her then I could pass on her email.. although if you've accused me of being a troll then i'd rather you didn't!
I only came on to this forum for advice. Only horsey people I know are all related to the yard so by having some outsider opinions would help me. Which they have, and now I know that i'm doing the right thing by moving him, but not happy about being called a troll.
 
I was pretty sure about this one from the initial post, I don't usually call 'troll' until they have dug themselves a hole to fall in. Nothing to prove here.

Your "step sister" who's so close to you that she shares your log-in details here used this account only three months ago about selling her four horses. Yet you say you don't know horsey people and would need someone here to speak to your mum?

Sorry, I stuck up for you, but that just doesn't make sense. So what if you're sister's in Scotland? She's still in a better position to advise than anyone here. Use the telephone, maybe?
 
Genuine problem or not you can complain to the yard about your horse being ridden but I doubt you could pin anything on them with reference to 'ruining' your horse or causing lameness if you are letting someone else ride the horse a few times a week

OK - so I'll give you the benefit of a doubt then and ask you again....

What exactly does this refer to you that you posted in another thread earlier this evening? Is this the same horse that you now say has been ridden without your knowledge and is lame as a result? Please explain how a horse only you should be riding you are supposedly paying someone else £25 a week to ride for you? That being the case how can you point the finger at the poor groom and say she has caused the lameness?

I think you'll find the person is supposedly paying the OP £25 for riding the horse. I also wonder whether hiring your horse out for profit might be in breach of her livery agreement?
 
It's ok op, I have the solution. Ride in draw reins, make sure you weigh at least 30% of your horses weight, have the farrier whack on some eggbars, then give away free to a good home. Problem solved.
