I have recently moved to a livery yard in Renfrewshire after long and careful consideration on where my boy should be stabled. It is called Gryffeside Livery in Kilmacolm and I have attached the link to the website below.
I had been at various yards in Renfrewshire and had come from having my boy at home for 2 years so I was perhaps not the easiest customer to please!
But, I can honestly say that it has been the best move for my horse and myself. My gelding is happy and so am I. The facilities at the yard are first class. There is the choice of all year round, convenient, good quality and small herd grazing in safe and secure well fenced off fields; or hard standing individual pens, which make weight loss and avoiding mud rush (if you have a horse prone to this) a breeze!
There is excellent, safe and scenic off-road hacking with a variety of routes available; a well surfaced riding arena; a highly professional and knowledgeable on-site yard owner/manager; friendly and very experienced fellow horse owners and even a fully fitted kitchen come sitting area for the riders on those wet, miserable days when we all need a cuppa and a friendly chat!
In fact, what's not to love about this yard and I cannot speak highly enough of it. I think the website says it all.
You should pop by for a visit. The owner, Karen, is usually about and I am sure she would be pleased to give you a guided tour.
Hi Craig
I agree with Victoria, I keep my horse at Gryffeside at Kilmacolm.
It Is a lovely yard with a smashing bunch of girls.
It has good big stables, 4 to a pod with a tack room for each pod.
A separate feed room and wash bay.
Space for your trailer or lorry at no extra cost.
feed shop on site, hay and haylage grown on site,so no need to travel for anything.
Because it is on a working farm your horse gets used to cows sheep and tractors ,my horse was scared of all 3 until he seen them every day now he does not even lift his head if they pass him.
It is also an adult only yard which I find so calm and relaxing, you can just go up and have time to chill and be with your horse.
The owners Karen and Willie are great.
If you have any problems they will do their best to help.
They stay on site so are very good at going that extra mile for all the horses.
As Victoria said pop up for a look around.
