Livery Yard Owners - A Rant

Now relocated back to the NW and I'm having trouble getting yard owners to so much as return my calls or emails. So far I've sent a text with my enquiry (as requested, then 'nnn will get back to you'), sent an email (as requested 'and then I can give you a break down of our additional costs') and left messages on mobile phones - the only point of contact - and the number has rang out constantly rather than be picked up.

Not one of them (four yards so far) has had the courtesy to reply or ring back . Why on earth go to the bother of advertising or creating fancy websites if it's too much hassle to deal with enquiries? Still, I suppose I should be taking it as a warning that if a YO treats those who enquire with contempt, then it's not a good omen for good future working relationships.

All I want is a livery yard with sane YO, safe hacking and decent facilities <sigh>.

Funny time of the year at the moment. Yard Owners could be busy with shows and not getting around to answering emails (and I know our's doesn't go on the computer that often at this time o0f the year) or having a holiday, as our's is, after being away at a show for four days. Be persistent, and keep at it as there will be a mad scramble soon for livery with good facilities, going into winter.

The area I've been looking in has started to get larger and larger . Originally I was looking from Chorley down to Rainford/St Helens (work-home), but I'm now including south of the M62, each side of the M6 (south of Warrington/Lymm area). I'm beginning to wonder if my voice transmogrifies when I leave phone messages...

Thanks for those . Quirky - I'd not thought of venturing in that direction - on my mental map Blackburn has always seemed so far away, but I suppose nipping up the M65 would be a much easier trip than the horrors of the M6/M62
