livery yard people

very much depend on the facilities on offer. A field with no stables, arena, storage etc £15 per week plus feed costs and your time. This could easily go up to £50-60 a week for 'full' grass livery with excellent facilities.

The price of hay is increasing and becoming hard to get, its your time filling the net and taking it to the pony, £35 - £40 a week. You also take the responsibilty to check the pony twice a day too !

Mmmmm, difficult one this. Coz really if they're only seeing to the horse once or twice a week, you're basically offering "full" livery aren't you rather than "assisted" of "part"? That's the basis I'd be inclined to go on TBH.

I would strongly suggest that if you're gonna do this, then you get it stipulated on the livery agreement exactly what the arrangement is and not just leave it to chance.

Costs? Gosh, difficult to say, depends so much on location/facilities/hacking etc. My livery pays £40 per month per horse DIY. For this she "does" them totally herself, gets 3 acres all-year turnout plus stable. Riding OK'ish/could be better, could be worse.

Sorry probably not much help.

Who does the muck clearing? I would charge £50 pw for rent, feed and checks, plus £5 a time for vet and farrier etc.

I pay £25 per week for full grass livery, I could (I don't!!!) never see him again. This includes feed and being fed, hay and being hayed, water, poo picking, fly spraying etc, no cost for them being present vet and farrier visits. School is currently being built and there is on site hacking including xc jumps. Does this help?

I need some figures: how much would you charge for a pony on grass livery, whose owners come up once or twice a week, and you're left with feeding/watering/farrier & vet arranging/etc? Thanks!

I would be telling them THEY need to check the pony every day and if they don't chuck them off Otherwise charge them £5 a day

£18.00 per week (if it's a small pony) I think is reasonable if it's in a field with some others and you are checking on it morning and evening and it's not too much trouble but then if you are putting hay out as well, then I'd charge on top of that per pale, then the owner knows exactly what they are paying for and how much hay their pony is eating.
