Hi, very random post but the joys of being the OH to an army officer where you get plonked at opposite ends of the country every few years.

We don't know which one he will be offered yet but we've narrowed it down to hopefully 99% being one of the three. Or potentially Sandhurst but I grew up in the area so am covered there!

So livery yard recommendations please relatively close to Tidworth/Bulford/Amesbury(Salisbury), Kings Worthy (Winchester) and Strensall (York).

I'm not fussy on what kind of livery (but don't need her exercised) my main priorities are:
- flood lit school with jumps,
- good hacking would be a plus but can box up
- good turnout (but not bothered if grass is rubbish as she is a native! I just want her out as much as poss, not bothered by individual/herd etc)
- nice people
- clinics at yard would be a plus but again can box up
- storage for box would be good but I could probably hide it somewhere on camp!

Also if anyone has any recommendations (or perhaps more importantly people to avoid) in terms of vet, farriers (she is barefoot currently), physios, instructors, saddlers etc.

Many thanks!

Stockwell is a very nice yard my friends are there. They use to film Emmerdale there for the horse scenes.

Have a look at the Saddle Clubs on the Army camps, there's one at Warminster and I thought there was one at Tidworth - it may be called Tedworth Equestrian.

Yes I have actually had a couple of lessons at Tedworth years ago. Got nice facilities but last I heard the turnout was a bit dire.

I worked at Warminster Saddle Club for a while, and the liveries got turnout but they were restricted in winter and when events were on as the turnout fields in the main were the xc course so I wouldn't be surprised.

I live in Amesbury and keep my horse on the edge of the Plain (wonderful hacking btw) - there are plenty of yards in the area including the saddle clubs, a number of which I would actively avoid - feel free to message me if you end on the Plain.
