Just wondering if there is a need for a livery yard in the Wiltshire area for full livery and Rehibilitation etc

Will basically be offering full livery 7 days a week to include all care basic feed (balancer & chaff) hay/haylage bedding use of 20x40 arena and horse walker (i will put them on in the morning/evening if wanted) all year turnout in individual paddocks (24 hour in summer if wanted & restricted to shorter times in the winter!) I will be living on site. What price would you charge or expect to pay for this? and would this be something people would be after? i ideally would be looking for professional people who like to compete in their spare time but don't have the time to be at the yard twice a day ( Not disregarding happy hackers but we don't have miles of hacking around here more fittening hacks!)

Secondly i would offer Rehabilitation for people who don't have the facilities or time after injury or during. I will offer same care as above but to include 24 hour care if needed, bandage changing, medication, leading in hand, restricted turnout, 12x14 boxes will always have one spare in case of emergency etc. i have spoken to my vet who is mainly ambulatory service and they would be more than happy to send people in my direction and give good references! again is this needed? Aimed towards the one or two horse owner without stables. Also prices you would expect to pay?

Please PM me if you would rather not post prices etc on here :)

Thank you to anyone helping me with my research! Anymore questions or good ideas please fire away!

No idea about your area but we definitely found a rehab yard a godsend after OH's horse had surgery. Both working full time so no way we could walk him out in hand three times a day, graze for 10 minutes etc. Make sure you charge for each item separately: livery, bandaging, walking in hand, grazing in hand, exercising etc as we were able to claim the additional cost of rehab from insurance. From memory, the yard had four boxes which were kept for rehab clients. Two were in quiet corner area and two were in main yard with lots going on so different personalities could be catered for.

I am not in your area but I did use a rehab yard for 7 months when my pony broke his splint bone and needed box rest and then going on the walker and then individual turnout. Working full time and pony not settling on box rest at normal yard it was a god send especially as there were other horses on box rest to keep him company and expert people around during the day to top up his hay and say hallo to him and check he was ok and who remained calm even when he was not!

I paid £150 a week and that included going on the walker and individual turnout when he came off box rest. Also they were there for vet, farrier etc.

Brilliant thank you. I dont think there is anyone specific in my area who offers this. I will have 2 yards one 8 box and one 10 box so would keep one for box rest and one for ridden horses. :)
