My mum is moving to Chalgrove, Oxfordshire and need to find a place to stable my horse. I was stabled in Durham Leys, in Marsh Baldon 2 years back but the YO is clueless! I read somewhere there was in Stadhampton - is this any good?

Do need: separate mares and gelding turnout as my boy does like the ladies

school with floodlights (indoor a bonus)

Not too fussed about the hacking but that again is a bonus as is a horsewalker.

Anymore info and numbers would be appreciated!!
Thanks

I think I saw a pre-build letting advert on H&H for a new livery yard in Stadhampton which is opening in April 2012

There's also Checkendon Equestrian Centre (3 indoor / 2 outdoor arenas, walker, pool, competitions etc.)They do a variety of liveries and it seems to be popular.
Alden Farm near Didcot has excellent hacking but is really really busy ad loads of dogs.
Grove Stables also near Didcot has good facilities but is a bit land locked although it's quite a big farm.
You could give Cane End Stud a call, Craig & Abby are friends of mine and I know that they're moving in the Spring and I think that they were thinking of moving Wallingford way. It would be worth finding out where they're going as the knowledge they have and the care of the horses would take some beating. PM me if you want a phone number but I think their website is still running (you'd have to Google it)
Or, depending on how far you are from Cane End then that could be a possibility - I have no idea who's taking it over, maybe a HHOr does? I've been there a few times and it's got a lovely indoor stabling barn (boxes are a bit small for big horses), the arena surface is beyond dire (frozen all winter and knee deep through summer. I know the surface was topped up but really it needs replacing) so as long as you don't need it much then it might not matter but it's floodlight well. Hacking is good for pootling about on the flat but you'd need to box out for hills and any fast work and there's a lot of shooting that goes on, grazing is OKish - three big paddocks and a couple of tiny ones for 30+ horses (flint & clay though if I remember) and the paddocks are boundary fenced with barbed wire and woodlands. There's no walker or any lunge pens so you're limited to the arena or hacking. It's got good road access though.
There's Waterstock - not sure if that's still a dressage yard but it has a good indoor arena and an outdoor. I think turnout was quite a walk up the road.
There's a yard towards Challow Station - I don't really know anything about it.
Park Corner near Nettlebed is a dressage yard I think but apparently it has quite nice facilities.
There's a lovely indoor arena at Brackenhill Stud near Henley with a Martin Collins surface. It's all a bit ramshackle there but the turnout is good and the hacking is ok. I think they have a canter track too.
There are quite a few yards around so I'm sure that you'll find somewhere suitable.

Lucy Clive has a yard at Stadhampton, outdoor and indoor school, indoor barn type stabling and not too busy.
Only downside is the lack of decent hacking but if you can box out there is some nice hacks not too far.
