Hi all

Does anyone know of any livery yards with vacancies for Assisted DIY/Part Livery? I live in West Byfleet so anywhere relatively local would be good. I have a budget of around £350 per month.

Thanks

Mel

hello.. two really nice places I know of are

Chobham - Higher Park Farm (think £340 assisted DIY)
Chertsey - South Beck Stables (164 DIY but offers various packakes up to full livery)

Your horse looks just like mine : )

Just stay away from Unique Livery. All reports are that you and your horse will end up very stressed.

To be in the heart of Chobham- Langshot is good. Can't for the life of me remember the name of who runs it, but her Mum did it before her. It is a riding stables too so somethimes there are school clashes but with two arenas and Chobham common out the back- you won't even notice. Large yard, good social. Good place.

There are plenty of yards in that area if you pop into chobham rider they usually have plenty of yards on the door advertised.

I used to ride at Langshot in the late 1960s - early 1970s, when Ann Baldry ran it. Awesome, I absolutely loved it, and the hacking is brilliant. Big and busy (then, anyway), and very friendly.

i recommend Willow Farm Stud. Its got 3 great riding arenas and amazing SJ, Dressage and XC.
or Higher Park farm, which has a big indoor school, and an outdoor, and cute stables. no XC though.
maybe Angel Farm Club which has XC, SJ and Dressage. Angel Farm also does lots of mini events going on every week, and it has a lot going on there.

i did prev suggest higher park but have since heard not such good things and think its reverted to being a riding school.

there are various tack shops in chobham though. Windsor Forest Riding Club and Chobham Riding Club are the local clubs and have classifieds on their pages..

I live in walton on thames and along with 2 other girls who live in Weybridge -we keep our horses at Chalkpit Farm Stables in bookham - their part livery is a bit more than you have budgeted for, but worth the drive and paying the extra to know that your horse is being looked after properly-looked around the neck of the woods you are looking at and just couldnt find anything decent - this yard is fantastic - surperb care, lovely atmosphere, good secruity, all year turnout (half day), 20 x 60 rubber/sand manage, miles of off road hacking on the doorstep, no hidden costs, have your own trainer/farrier etc and lorry parking too - good luck with your search - its so stressful trying to find somewhere!

How would Claygate do?

I know I rave on about the yard I'm on but it is great! We have a vacancy ATM as a horse has recently been PTS. (Old age - nothing to do with the yard!)

Year round turn out. 24/7 in summer if wanted. Mares and geldings seperate. Floodlit jumping school, seperate dressage school. Horse walker. Indoor wash room with hot water. Solarium. Parking for boxes / trailers. Secure tack room plus individual feed storage. Good hacking - although there is a small bit of road work to get there. YO is a BHSI and will do lessons - although you can bring in your own insturctor if you want. YO's husband is a farrier - although you do not have to use him! All options available from full livery all the way through to DIY. Well within your budget.

There is about 25 boxes all told, but only about 9 liveries. We're a very freindly bunch - no bitching. Interests range from happy hacking to serious competition. PM me if you want YO's number.

Oh... its Woodstock South if that helps....
