I am looking to move further out to get better grazing, hacking and standard of care. Can people please give me a list of livery yards to look at? Dont mind waiting for a good yard.

Would prefer DIY with services or part livery. Minimum is AYTO (does not have to be 24/7) in small herds, decent sized stables and a floodlit menage with a decent surface. Anything else is a bonus.

PM if you prefer - thanks.

Im on an amazing yard but its 25 miles from brentwood- I work in Brentwood. All year turnout, 24/7 in summer (they went out 24/7 for the first night last night. Large stables with a mini pen outside each one if you want to allow extra space at night. Floodlit arena and AMAZING off road hacking that leads to forestry trails! £25 per week for DIY but they do whatever your after. It all depends if you can be bothered to travel 30min out of Brentwood.

Shadowmonkey - your yard sounds amazing, however I will be travelling 30 miles TO Brentwood, so dont know if I can cope with another 30 mins in the opposite direction (unless it is 30 mins closer to London??!!??)

I'm not keen on a comp yard ... I just want somewhere that the horses can be out in nice fields (no wire) and have a nice stable at night. Dont care about walkers/wash down boxes etc but would like a floodlit menage with a decent surface (rickety crippled horses so dont want anything deep).

Springvale Farm Navestock have a few vacancies left. All yr turnout, no menage but indoor school with new surface. Small herds or own field. Comes highly recommended!!

Changing the subject for a minute, LittleFlea- how did it go with D.P. looking at your horse? Sorry if you've posted about this but I haven't been on for a while.

It is lovely - one of the least bitchy yards i have ever come across and excellnt facilities- i cant reccomend it enough- but yes its further from London. Its approx 45- 1 hour from london imo. I live in the town its in but work in brentwood and it takes me 30 min to get to Brentwood via Ongar. Its in Great Dunmow if you cant find anywhere else.

I know quite a few in the area, but am having a total mental block and can't think of any names. I blame hunger, can't think with no fuel!
Have you looked on the board at Ingatestone recently? There were a few there at the weekend.

My yard would probably fit your requirements but is full with a waiting list as far as I know.

Hi Twiglet

Dont mind going on a waiting list - would give me something to look forward to!

I looked at Ingatestone about 2 weeks ago - was all too far away really.

Having been on DIY and then livery for years and being continually fed up with it all, I would prefer DIY but would go on livery if the service was good. I am not asking for hugs and kisses, just someone who will turnout/bring in, muck out, feed what I want them to be fed and notice when my horse is on 3 legs. I dont think it is too much to ask for, but apparently it is!
