I'm sorry I know these threads have been done to death but I want to leave my current yard and fairly soon so could do with some advice!

Currently stabled approx. 5 mins drive from Toyota Island off the a38 and have been there for over 4 years, loved it until very recently, however me and a friend (or 2) are fed up and have decided to move.

Mickleover would be the perfect area, so any info on yards in/around this area would be fab.

This is what we currently have, and would like to find elsewhere...

DIY (a must)
24/7 T/O 365 days a year (a must)
Sand school
Small amount of off road riding
Rubbish hacking
Wooden stable blocks, 11 ft square (not rubber matted)
Large shared tackroom

We would need 4 or 5 spaces, but only actually NEED one stable, so could consider grass only, although preferably short term.

Any ideas would be great :)

Have you looked at Oakdean? Not far from Barleyfields/Hargate? Or Highfields Happy Hens also near Barleyfields?

Or there is a DIY yard a friend of mine used to be at near the Stenson Bubble, just the other side of the canel.

Oakdene's on the 'list of yards to have a nosey at' tomorrow!
Do you know anything about it, i.e. facilities etc?

I didn't know highfields happy hens did livery? Though they were what they say on the tin tbh!

Thankyou :)

I know a few people who are at Oakdene and they speak very highly of the place. Say it is friendly and the liveries help each other out. I've never actually been to the yard, only ridden past.

I believe Highfields have some DIYs, I remember someone from Barleyfields moved there because they needed budget DIY.

Oh Hackwood Farm have livery I think, I don't know about the facilities have just seen the signs, it is just off Radbourne Lane in Mickleover. I think there is another place just near the end of Station Road in Mickleover too.

Might be worth a scout around down the end of Ryneild Road too, there is a yard down there, haven't a clue what it is like though.

Or a bit further out there are bags of places round Ingleby/Ticknell way.

Thanks for all your suggestions, new yard found and moving in 10 days, very happy!

Oakdene was a bit too much of a commercial type livery for me, and isn't 24/7 turnout, but has fab facilities!
