how far do you travel to your livery yard?
at the minute horse is on DIY livery- yard is about 5 miles away. during week i pay for him to go out in the morning and then i do evenings and weekends.

trying to work out if it would be cheaper to move somewhere further away but be on full livery so not having to go up quite as much (probably wouldn't go everyday when in work)...

Mine is about 20 mins away ... a bit longer in this weather :(.

I only go up in the mornings and 'do', she is on part livery, so they finish off in the evening.

Used to be on DIY (5 mins from home) but with 2 young children and an OH who works away, it suits me better to go once a day.

this is the thing. i like having horse in DIY but it grates that every night i get in at 9pm...i find it all quite a struggle in the winter sometimes... :( feel like i might enjoy it a bit more if i wasn't there as much- if that makes sense!

Mine's 3 miles away but handily round the corner from work. I do afternoons, the groom chucks out or renews hay/water in the am which frees me up to spend more time in bed and with the OH. He was getting a bit annoyed at me falling asleep every evening!

I'm currently 5/10 min drive from my yard - about 2 and a half miles.
Wouldn't go any further than a 15 min drive, especially after I've had the luxury of being so close.

I am with NFU for my geldings insurance and their premiums increase if you live further than 6 miles away so it might be worth you checking with your insurance company just in case.
