Livery Yards in Greater Manchester?

Is anyone local or know of anyone who is? There's not much choice of livery yards here, and just wondered if anyone had any first-hand experience of some.

Just a warning with MEC as I visited OHs family in Trafford, who ride there, and was shocked by the place. But I think it's probably the type of place where if you keep your head down and get on with your thing, it could be ok.

Not much turnout either, but then I suppose it is GM, right on the motorway. Very small indoor, and pretty pricey.

I already know the yard I want to be at long-term as it's my riding school and I've been there for around 5 years, it's just it's quite a busy place so I'm not sure when a stable will become available. So I'd need somewhere to stay whilst I hang around on their waiting list!

If you're willing to go as far as Altrincham/Lymm - there's a nice place called Kay Lane. I personally wouldn't go near Ashton Hall or MEC but that's just me.

If you don't mind traveling there are plenty of yards around Radcliffe way . There was also some stables advertised at Clifton country park.

I'm moving to Didsbury and am also looking for a livery yard ... have been pretty spoilt with my current yard as we have a walker, all weather menage, brew room, etc .... looking for diy with feed and t/o Mon to Fri and probably feed at weekends .....

I used to live in Greater Manchester and wouldn't recommend any of the yards I know of and can think of there. If you can travel into Cheshire you'll find the standard of livery yards much, much higher IMHO.

Sadly Flame I don't drive, so the bus journey to there at rush hour would make my life a lot harder

Did you check out Ryders Farm by the way? Thats where I will be going once a stable becomes free, I love it there.

MEC, Ashton Hall, North Cheshire, New Hill (Farm Stud), there is one in boothstown something hall i think

What sort of livery yard are you looking for? DIY, 5 day livery or Full livery? Agree Kay Lane is great but only do 5 day or Full livery.

If you are looking for somewhere in the Lymm/Mobberley area there are loads of livery yard notices in Estate Supplies in Ashley.
