I might have to move soon as OH job arrangements have changed, and he's seen a house he likes in Peppard Road near Emmer Green.

So before we go and see it i have to look where i can put my horse. I've found 2 on the internet PALMERS Riding Stables and FRIEZE FARM Liveries.

Does anybody know what these are like, and price ect. It'll be DIY Livery for one horse.

I think Frieze Farm is quite good. Not sure of details, but friend bought a horse from there last year and said it was nice enough. Large fields (might be barbed wire though??) and very friendly.

Do you know the area well? Might be worth a look further afield (Binfield Heath, Lower Shiplake etc) if you drive and can "commute" to a yard.

I don't know the area at all well. I would like something no more than about 10 / 15 mins away as i'll still have to work in swindon for a while until i can get a job in reading (hopefully) so the commute to work is long enough. If anyone knows of other places, then please let me know

Don't know any specific yards, but will just offer one piece of advice....

Stick to North of the river (and the M4!). There are limited crossing points over both of these, which can be a nightmare if you're trying to do it at anything like rush hour/football days/festival time.

I live and work north of the M4 but the yard is south of the M4. It is chaos. I have to get up extra early to make sure I'm back this side of the motorway by 7.30am, or the drive could take me well over an hour.

Frieze Farm are friendly and have lots of grazing. A nice school too. Very reasonably priced.

Never heard anything about Palmers.

I think there are quite a few around that area just cannot remember the names of any of them! :-)

Good luck in your search.
