Hey everyone

Me and OH are looking to buy a house in Bristol and i wondered if there are actually any decent livery yards in the south of bristol, outside of the brislington/bedminster type area, up to 15mins outside say. I dont want to move but i suppose if we find the right house then it would be silly not to buy it. I only know north bristol/south glos for livery yards.
So if any one knows of any i would love to hear from you.
Many thanks
Astra

If you are after a nice yard with stables and all year turnout, but sadly no school PM Siennamum on here. They are about 10 mins from Brislington

Not sure I'd go there either, UWE use them for riding lessons and a few years back when I was having a lesson there one of the junior instructors got extremely mixed up about the right leg to lead on in canter...

it didn't exactly fill me with confidence after that.

There was a really long post on here recently about someone who asked about yards in bristol-have a search for it. Lots of suggestions on there, including Terri Hill (?) I think-if you search for her you might find it.

There's a school being built 3 fields away in the village, sadly it'll need hiring but very close

PiB, do PM me if you are interested. We commute from Knowle, Brislington and Stockwood and share all yard duties so it's pretty convenient. Could take 4 horses, can have own field & last winter we only bought them in at night cause their feet were a bit wet, for about 3 weeks in Feb.

In that case you may end up with me before too long. In my continuing 'livery yard drama' there is a planning application in to build on the yard where I am now. If I were you I'd turn me down actually, I am a magnet for livery disaster at the moment!!

You'd be welcome anytime & could come to an arrangement about part livery to avoid that journey daily.
Deri is likely to go in a week or two - we've had lots of interest, so we'll be down to 2!!! Lots of good stalky rough grass, or a couple of starvation areas to suit.

I'll let you know - we are all writing objections and the YO assures us he'll set us up somewhere else (should hope so the amount he stands to make from the deal allegedly!!), but the whole point for me is that it is mega-convenient and close, so just setting up somewhere else may not be terribly helpful for me

Any way, no danger of it being any time too soon I shouldn't think. My truck would love having indoor parking though

I learn't to ride at Urchinwood and found Sally hall brilliant, very knowledgable and a good grounding on horsemanship, firstly on one of their school horses and then on my own horse. Good luck finding a yard.
