I visited a very nice little yard just outside Yatton a few weeks ago, newly built with post and rail and school under construction. Will get details for you later but its in Kingston Seymour so not too far out of town.

hi there

There is a livery yard about 5oo yrds from langford, i think its called StoneyCroft and am afraid dont have the number of owners as has changed hands,
there is also Urchinwood manor which is about 7 miles from langford u can get details by putting urchinwood manor n bringing the website up,
there is also milfort house only does full livery though is about 2 miles from langford also has a website.

Ah wow thankyou everyone you are stars! i couldnt seem to find many advertised!

Bossanova its the animal welfare and behaviour course i have a place on, I applied to vet med everywhere else but i dont hold up much hope (especially as my old head of year has decided to change my predicted grades... grr). I really liked the course and the place, just couldnt help thinking id rather be studying vet med there. What did you do?

Oooh exciting!!

I did veterinary pathogenesis which was first 2 years in Bristol, 3rd year in Langford. You'll love it there, great fun being in Bristol and whilst Langford is in the bck of beyond, it's a great horsey area- Badgworth and The Hand are very close.

Oh ok, did you enjoy it? I was considering that too but went for the welfare. Was there an obvious divide between your course and the vet meds?

Yep, really enjoyed the course. We didnt have anything to do with the vets- we were in the med school when in town and in the immunology labs when out at Langford. Vets smell :P

oooh ok, so what are you doing now (if you dont mind me asking). Yeh having the hand so close by is def appealing! Ill try to give Tab a ring tomorrow and have a chat!

When you were in bristol how long did it take you to get there? Whete abouts did you live?

You can tell her Jancis put you onto her :P

The problem with Bristol is that it takes so blooming long to get out of the city, whatever way you go out. I lived in Manor Hall, Bristol and it took about 40 minutes if the traffic was okish- theres certain routes to avoid but Clifton is quite straightforward- you go out towards the airport and cut across country.
From Langford it takes 15 mins.

There are places that are closer to Bristol but I didnt find anywhere I liked apart from there.

The only hitch is that school is woodchip and isnt perfect to ride on but it is big and it does the job- there's acres of farmland to ride on too (and lovely stone walls to jump!)

Ok fab, not tooooo bothered about surface as the surface at home is very bizarre and quite dead to ride on. Just wanting somewhere i can get away from life with nice friendly people! I currently travel half an hour to get to the yard so not too bothered about distance either. I can just TRY and get a hall closest! So did you find it ok with a horse at Uni? did you have enough time? ALSO how was parking your car!!?!

Sorry SOOOO many questions!

Yeah, you'll have enough time. I also schooled a lot of ponies for others whilst at uni and at one point was riding 4 sjers a day for a client. Uni is the time to do these things!!
PArking is never a problem- there's always somewhere and you get to know the best places pretty quickly
