Hello, we have now moved to Carluke and I’m looking to get back in to riding again. Looking for recommendations on R/S suitable for adults returning to riding. At some point I may look into owning or sharing so yard names also appreciated. ☺️

As far as I know there are lots of livery yards round that area. Riding school wise there is the Scottish Equestrian Hotel in Lanark and Hillhead Equestrian Centre in Carluke. I can't give an opinion on either of them in terms of how good they are though.

The Scottish Equestrian Hotel has recently moved to Carluke. They are on Facebook. My daughter went there for a while and they seemed to have a good range of horses and ponies

Scottish equi moved to the racing stables at Belstane in Carluke
Haynes still do lessons I think at Hillhead Farm Carluke
Stanmore Equestrian in Lanark

With a little travel over you have BurnBank equestrian over near hamilton, Turlood in Lesmahagow, Smithstone in Stonehouse.

Hi from Crawford! I can't recommend any local livery yards yet as not been to any (seem to be busy everywhere except S Lanarks!) but will be getting a feel for them as time goes on.

Oh, interesting, I didn't know that! I knew the racecourse was owned by the council or were several years back. I wonder what will happen to them now?
