Can anyone recommend livery yards to me in this area? Ideally within 30 minutes of M1 junction 35 but will consider further afield if necessary.

My number one requirement is access to a school (or at least an area specifically for schooling but would prefer a school). Other than that I am reasonably flexible. Looking at D.I.Y or part with options for add ons if I can't make it.

Also, can anyone recommend any tack shops in this area? I know of Chapeltown saddlery but where else is good?

Have you tried Pennine Equine? It is about ten minutes from J36 of the M1. They do mainly DIY but also assisted livery. They have a school and direct access to Wharncliffe Woods for off road hacking. And there is a tack shop on site!
If you google the name they have a web site.

were at donny just off m18 however i live in rotherham and the yard is totally fab! i have seen a few since i got back in to horses 18mths ago!
the yo well were do i start apart from brill and a fab out door school with brilliant lighting. my horse hated the old school refused to move forward but loves this one.:D:D
she only does full five days a week and diy on weekends but can do weekends at extra cost!
teddy was a shell of a horse when he arrived and well now he is a star.
he is recovering from liver trouble and since we arrived on the yard 4 weeks ago has improved so much. the yard is quite and ive been told has good hacking, which i havent look in to as just bringing him back in to work
we pay 70 a week which includes feed, shavings, haylage, mucking out and turn out fetch in mon-fri
the stables are nice too.
I cant fault the place.
oh and its 22 acres and only has 4 horses and 4 ponys on it! they live in small groups 2 horses 1 pony then 2 horses and another field of 3 ponies.
horses are turned out from roughly 7.30 till 4 at present
the yo lives on site also
if you look at my friends list the yo is on it!
she has been ace while teddy has been having treatment and well keep me smiling and strong when things were tough.
oh just noticed you wanted diy or part however we have found works out the same! we were paying 50 a week for just part and spending a load on shavings
i think its well worth checking out
sorry for the rammble how ever i love the place

There are at least 2 yards in Thorpe Hesley (which is J35) will PM you the names.

Tackshop wise...

Parklands is in Aston - I can't remember which junction but it's the Worksop/Rother Valley one (I want to say J31) and Throstle Nest, which is in Silkstone common. Both are a 20min drive or so from J35. (and tbh I find Chap saddlery quite expensive compared to those 2)
