Hi.

Desperately seeking DIY livery for 2-4 horses in area between M1 and Market Harborough. There seems to be a real shortage round here.

Must have all year turn out, good hacking as 1 youngster and one terrified of traffic, so not on a bus route. A school with decent surface and assisted livery, as maybe travelling away for few days at a time AND well run.

Asking alot? Seems to be in this area.

Have looked on Welland Valley, no joy.

Sadly like my livery yard, but they have started raising pigs and my horses are petrefied and getting worse not better, so need to move for there benefit.

Please, any suggestions welcome.

Have you looked at the notice board in Sharnford Lodge? It might be a bit far out though. I'm local but don't know a lot of yards nearby as mine are kept at home.

Have a search on here for livery yards in market harborough, from google I can see theres a few posts on it.

You could have a drive around and ask at livery yards that you see?

We are in that area but cannot offer turnout in the winter due to heavey clay land. Its a common problem in the area you are looking and with forage being of a premium I think people are going to have to think harder about land management. We do find we dont need to supplement our grass in the summer with our system and we can make enough halage and hay to cover our needs.

Maestro - you are right about land, the joys of living in the knaptoft bowl! There just seems to be nothing around this area, Mowsley, laughton way. Have great hacking, but all private yards. Would have been fine except for the pigs. I mean most people know they dont go together. One way to clear out the livery.

Tobey - I havent looked at Sharnford as dont tend to go that way. May pop up there this week. Most yards seem to be the other side of MH which is too far to go twice daily.

Shall keep searching, just hate seeing my horse a shivering wreck, when he is normally the most laid back horse. :(

Thanks, :) Any one know of any others?

How about Park Farm where the UK Chasers is at Stanford On Avon. Great facilities, school to die for and the hacking is amazing all round there. The people I know who have horses there love it.
