I've just been filling in the livery yard questionaire re H&H News section. I made me realise what a long way to go a lot of places have. Before I had my own place I kept the horses at a farm, nice people and friendly but totally unhorsey, there were no controls in place, everything was up to the individual owner, worm control etc. fortunately we all had our own paddocks, but ragwort was a problem. there must be hindreds of places like that, no plan in place for if something goes wrong. a lot of food for thought.

far too many of them round here am afraid....only the other day i drove past umpteen ragwort infested fields with horses in it

Council is the worst culprit round here for it

Too many non horsey farmers have accomodated horses(think they got a grant to convert soo much of their unused land for equestrians??)
