I pay far too much for far too little!
I'm on a private farm on part livery. Very unprofessional, rubbish facilites and they charge the same as the local, very posh yard that I didn't even bother looking at because it was so expensive!
(The bill came as a shock so I'm now looking to move!)
I think there might be a North South divide on prices
up here for £50 a week you can get use or a large yard with turn out including field shelters which they much out and hay large indoor and outdoor school all hay/hayledge straw and use of a small xc course.
The next yard down is £80 per week full livery (without exercise) smaller indoor and outdoor school. (including bedding and hayledge and feed and supplements)
Full livery on the racing yard is £70 per week all including horse onto horse walker twice a week..... (including bedding and hayledge and feed)
you can add onto that what you like and tailor it to you including exercise....
Most livery yards here £25 per week diy plus hay n straw.....
£65 a horse a month for grass livery! use of 2 crap stables, only any good for storage. 4 fields, all with terrible fencing, I've had to buy loads of electric fencing to make safer! but 2 fields are being refenced next week! we have 2 fields with shelters but the farmer is very slow at getting things done! waited 3 years for this fencing to happen!
but on the reverse, its a private yard, just me and a couple of friends, i decide who can come and go etc, which is stressful at times! but also good that randoms don't keep turning up.
its on the farm next door to where I live! we have miles or off road hacking, not used by any other horses as we are the only yard in the area!
its next to the farm i live in which is 2000 acres, so I can hack where i want that isn't useable by anyone else!
the horses are happy there but theres no facilities so will have to box my baby to the school by my house when i back next in the summer!
130 pcm - all day turnout (never 24/7 though) large airy stables and use of a floodlit 25x45 out door arena, good hacking and she does all the ordering of bedding and hay and stuff oh and you can pick and choose the paddocks as you like so can move about if your field is getting muddy or not much grass in it
