Heloo,

My horse had a full clip a few weeks ago by my friend with "proper clippers" , and his coat is just starting to come back through, no idea why, mild weather, rugged up etc.
Anyway, quite soon i will wan't to redo his clip, and i was wondering would my Liveryman element trimmers do the job? his coat obviously wont be thick, i just can no way afford proper clippers!

Thanks guys! x

You could try! But as they are very small and only meant for trimming small areas I think that a whole horse would take until Christmas to do completely! Also I think that they would be exhausted!!!

They will definately take off any cat hairs and probably will do a full clip on a thin coat no problem, however it will take you a while and you'll need to keep them plugged in! I would also use the blade guards as they cut very fine and you'll end up with a bald pony otherwise!

I've looked at these, would they do a bib clip on a fine coated type?

I'm looking for something small, quiet and cordless to do my clipper shy horse. I want to start desensitising and then just do a tiny bit at a time. We were only aiming for a chaser clip originally so don't envisage doing a lot of clipping.

Yes they would. I recently bought a pair to do exactly that and they coped with the job admirably. I bought mine from Oakfield Direct who had them at a good price and the trimmers turned up on my doorstep the day after I placed my order!

Brilliant thanks for that, I was wondering whether they would do it. Didn't want to waste my money, but at the same time I am sure that with some slow desensitisation, we could clip her ourselves if we do it in her own box while she is calm. She is pretty senstive to things being "different" so trying to keep things normal and routine with people she knows is pretty important.

They are brilliant. I bought a pair a couple of weeks to clip my 4yr olds face (first clip). They did a fab job and are really quiet. Also he knocked them out of my hand and stood on them - he is a big ID x and I thought they would be in pieces when he took his foot off - but just a small scuff so they are robust too!!!:)
