Sorry I know it's a bit early to be considering clippers, but I've just dug mine out for my sister to borrow to tidy up my niece's new pony.
I've never been sure exactly how to tension them correctly - the instructions state that I should gradually tighten nut until the sound of the motor drops, but I'm not sure if this means to tighten just until the nut 'grips' as the sound of the motor obviously changes when the nut goes from completely loose to having some purchase, or should I start from having some purchase and go from there? If I do this I seem to have to tighten a lot to hear any change.
They seem to clip just as well however tight I tension them so I can't go on that either - should I just leave them as loose as possible?
I've had a look through the other threads on tensioning but all models seem to vary?!
Thanks in advance!
