Liveryman Harmony battery pack clippers

The Harmony is ok on sensitive horses with very clean coats, but takes the "snap on type" trimmer style blades similar to the moser avalon, so may not cope with thick coats.

For cordless, you realy only have the choice of the Lister Liberty with the battery pack, or the Heinegar or Wolseley Merlin, both of which have a "snap in battery" but it is worthwhile buying a spare as they will only clip for 30 to 40 mins on a charge. Dependant on coat cleanliness etc.

The Lister has the longest life on its battery pack and like the Wolseley and Heinegar takes "full size" clipper blades.

My Liveryman Harmony clippers clipped, last winter, trace clip on my thick coated Section D and 5 - count them, 5 - trace clips on my shaggy gipsy cob mare. Managed fine although they desperately needed sharperning by the end of winter. One thing you do need to remember about them is that if you hurl them at your ned in a towering temper because ned is being a tit, they only go as far as the cord attached to your waist so will fall on the floor and break apart. Also, if you lay them careful on a shavings bale while you turn to soothe the ned you have just hurled the clippers at, the cord still attached to your waist will yank them back onto the floor again and, as before, they will break apart. Fortunately, they are fairly easy to put back together again.

B_O_F that sounds like the voice of experience!
I have the Liveryman Harmony & have chaser clipped a mediumly fluffy cob & bib & belly clipped a very fluffy cob & a very thick (more like sheepskin!) coated native in 1 session.
Very quiet clippers & a nice size & shape for smaller hands which was my main reason for choosing them.

i have the Harmony clippers and they are excellent on both thin and thick coats.

the battery lasts ages and ages, the clippers are nice and neat in your hand and i love the clip on blades- much nicer than faffing around with tensioning!

only annoying thing is charging the battery- has to be between 8hours and 8hours and 15 minutes, no more, no less!
very annoying i can't just stick them on charge before i go to bed.

I have them as they were nice and cheap and I only have one horse to clip two or 3 times each winter. He has a full clip and this year his legs are going too. I have the new battery pack that lasts 3-4 hrs and last year I managed half a horse and had to recharge (mine takes 2-2.15 hrs) Was a bit pissed off with that! Certainly didn't take me 3 hrs to clip one side either! Clipping today so will let you know how we get on with the battery pack. Never had a problem with the blades though, always manage a full clip on a hairy beast fine.

I have just bought these today! I have a clipper phobic horse and these are perfect for him - small, quiet and cordless. I have actually managed to do his neck and 1/2 head-without sedation, twitches or other artificial help which is a major breakthrough. These need charging for 2 hours and seem very easy to use, albeit lightweight compared to my other Lister Star clippers. People say they do a full clip on a hairy horse, I think they are better suited to half clips or finer coats. Check out the price on Farmcare UK, they are my local store and very helpful. Not associated with them but I thought their price was good

i have these and have managed to full clip my fluffy NF last winter and have started again this year, they managed it no problem at all

Thanks for your reply. I am thinking of getting the clippers as I have a pony who I have no choice but to clip - he is 15 and never been clipped before. We tried sedation last time but he was lethal and we only managed an appalling neck clip, but a new vet has managed to befriend him and says if she can get an IV in then she can sedate him and if necessary 'drop him' to the ground and keep him under for long enough for us to clip him out. I'm dreading it, but do have one pair of battery pack clippers aready but we need to have two people working at the same time so really need another set. My hope is that the IV sedation will work and coupled with these new quieter clippers, we'll not have to resort to the full knock out option. If we succeed I'll post on here!

they are great for clipping sensitive horses and also great for awkward areas. plus i like em because they are light weight and so dont make my arm ache so much. i got an email yesteday from 24tack, they got 10% off clippers this wekeend if you have a look. not sure when it finishes but might help you out save a bit of cash :-)

I have got the Harmony clippers and think they are fab! I have done about 5 clips with them this winter so far but last year i did 28 with them! I didnt have a problem with any type of coat, even did a hogged mane and thick feathers with them. I have found that if you have something that is really hairy if you use the find blade (doesnt come with the clippers you have to buy it seperate) i clips the thicker coats with easy.
