Liveryman harmony or masterclip hd roamer

I'm thinking of treating myself to some clippers. I would be using them to hog and clip a hairy traditional cob. I want a cordless clipper. So do I go for the liveryman harmony or the new masterclip hd roamer.
Here's a link to the clippers. The masterclip one are out on sale tomorrow. I'm thinking that the liveryman may just be suited to trimming. Any ideas which would be best suited?

My horse is a 17.2hh clydesdale cross and has been clipped using the liveryman ones. They did a very good job if I'm honest.
I myself have a set of masterclip cordless clippers and have to say they are equally as good and their customer service is fantastic. I had a problem with mine just out of warranty and they honoured the warranty and repaired them for me foc. Not had any dealings with the liveryman customer service though. On specification alone it is easy to see that the masterclip clippers are a breed apart.

The harmony plus are a glorified trimmer, although the post above suggets they are fine, as some will, you can search on here and find post after post after post suggesting they are not up to much. They use glorified dog blades and are probably more suited to dogs. The A5 type blades are only really useful for trimming - you have to be very patient, stopping to clear the blades and oil them all the time. They also get hot quickly. They also have a notorious switch on them that fails all the time, the switch quality is very poor.

I've never seen the masterclip HD roamer clippers before but from the specification can tell they will be good. They are one of only two cordless clippers using lithium ion batteries - the latest battery technology. They charge quickly and last a long time. The fact that they take proper horse clipper blades will mean clipping with them will be a breeze compared to the harmony plus clippers.

The only thing to be said in favour of the harmony plus clippers is the size. They are about a 3rd of the size but to balance that they are probably only capable of third of the job too.

On a separate note it is good to see that it is not only heinger that has cottoned on to li-ion batteries. Although I would never compare the masterclip clippers to heineger clippers, specification wise, there is now more than one option if you don't want a rubbish battery.
 
I struggle to hog/trim up my coloured cob with harmony battery clippers. Clipping takes an age so unless you have lots of spare time and patience go for the Masterclip
 
My harmony clippers couldn't get through my Welsh D's normal fur let alone his legs and left awful tramlines where I had to keep going over the same bit to get the hair properly off.
 
I am sooooo surprised about people saying they the harmony can't get trough a coat. We have use it on both welsh cob and belgian draft. the belgian drafts coat get so thick he would still ot be cold in a ice age! :D
But seriously, the clippers have not let us down at all and we do a full clip on the big belgian 17.1 hh in under 2 hours.
I do sometimes wonder if people wash their horses prior to clip because no clippers get trough a dirty coat properly.
 
has anyone used the masterclip roamers yet? A friend has bought some and tried to use them today but they kept cutting out after 30 seconds or so. We are hoping it was just that she didnt charge the battery extra from new.
 
I used Liveryman Harmony to clip a sec D and a Connie last year. They do a great job. You do have to stop every now and then to let them cool down but I do that anyway to give the horse a break.
