Hi

Well I recently took a bit of a chance and bought some second hand clippers, I did see them turned on before bring them home and they seemed to run ok.

So went to use them for first time today and they fired up fine.. then few seconds later they died! If I press the little red reset button then they will start again but again a few seconds later they died again so obviously something very wrong! Any advice...please.... my horse has yellow lines all over him and is boiling! :rolleyes:

Firstly, id call the person you bought them off to see if (s)he's known this to happen. Might be a safety cut out switch? Otherwise call the Liveryman helpline and see if they can help or recommend a local repairer.

Thanks, contacting old owner is not an option unfortunately as bought at a horsey carboot! Didn't think to try Liveryman helpline though, thanks :)

My newish { under 12 months old} clippers started doing this, whilst i was in the middle of a clip, they just kept on cutting out with that little button, i rang the supplyer { liveryman} who told me to take the clippers apart and give them a good clean as some grit might have got in, they said if that failed, it was an expensive part that would need replacing { can not remember what part}, in the end i had to send them back { still under garantee}

Thanks everyone, have tried loosening the blades and cleaning the air filter thoroughly and still doing it :(, so might be the expensive part then.. will try and ring them in a bit but if it is a big part then don't think they will be worth fixing at that age..

Ok before I send them off for repair I want to take them apart and give them a really good clean incase that fixes things but I can't seem to get the two green halves apart! Does anyone who has some or has a manual be able to telll me what to do? We have got as far as undoing the three visible screws but don't know what to do next!?? :confused:

hi, i always go to peasridge for help, this is the response i got when i asked about tensioning the mustangs!

I would treat the Liveryman “Mustang” the same as the Liscop “3000” (Liveryman are in fact Liscop machines but they were branded by the importer as “Liveryman!”

If you use the link below and scroll down the resulting page there is information about tensioning that may be helpful.

i am using liveryman or worseley A2 blades on mine! when i bought mine they came with about 10 sets of blades!!!
