Someone is leaving our gate open at the yard. Twice this week my husband has arrived to find our mare running up and down in the corridor between fields. People are being quite unpleasant and bitching in corners but it wasn't us that left the gate open.
There are two horses per field, all of the other fields have a simple gate to get in, ours because of the way that the fields are arranged has a piece of string to separate the horses from the gate so that other people can get their horses in and out. Everyone knows that Daisy does not respect the piece of string and crawls underneath it but until now they have been fine with this. There is no way she could be in the passageway unless somebody left the actual gate open.
Why would you leave somebody else's gate open? All kinds of nasty comments are being made about Daisy being dangerous and upsetting other horses but we aren't the ones letting her out. Most horses would leave their muddy fields for a nice grassy pathway if you leave their gate open.
What do I say to YO? She saw OH when he arrived at the yard and casually mentioned that she thought Daisy might be out??? Why, if she was out did no-one catch her or at least shoo her back into the field?
(Aside from this I love my yard, it is pretty much perfect, moving to getting away from whoever the nutter is isn't an option)
