Took 4 of the gals from the yard today, two went for their first ever hunt and are flying high. Unfortunately, one of the horses tried to kill everything in sight, lost it completely

Partoow knows this mare quite well and I remember her saying that she was 'a bully, self opinionated & orange'

Approximate guess at 40'ish in the field. 2 miles of road to get onto mountain. Fixed log pile jumps, no alternative from what I hear. Roxy and one other ended up in bog, Roxy up to her quarters. A sheer drop one side and a narrow track

All set around the magnificent Carreg Cennen Castle. After all the near death experiences were discussed over a bowl of Cawl, they all said what a wonderful day they had had (apart from Sue).

Poor Sue,my friend had an orange monster she called it OOO[orrible orange object] All our horses at the time had Soz in the name, we had Supersonic Soz,Little Soz and we called him Absolute Soz, we got away with it and you can guess how it sounded when he came in to jump!
Roxy is a big strong girl ,hope Sue had a nice hot Radox bath

Wow - I love Carreg Cennen, just fabulous part of the world, though quite hairy to hunt round I'd have thought.
You must let me know how you friend's mare is bred - she does look like Sienna, and Sienna was born about 3 miles from Carreg Cennen.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
I miss hunting SO much, and cawl! and haven't actually been able to bring myself to look at any Hunting pics at all. This is one of my absolutely favourite meets so I just had to.

thanks for posting H. Glad your lot enjoyed and all came home safe and sound. Nice to see some familiar faces in the photos too.

Sarah.........Trudi has got long hair now!

To Enfys & Sienna Mum

I bought Rox from Llanybydder 6 years ago, top price for the month (Tuckers prices), in fact, mentioned in Cmthn Jnl

(and my point is ?) Anyway ...

Siennamum, I do have her breeding - she is Mugabe x Rotweiler and as long as you have 17 people to hold her ... she isnt a problem ... looks for smiley to indicate the shuffling of feet and tumble weed.

Abbs - come home

Welllllllllllllllllllll.....I have still got all my Hunting Kit
c024.gif
Maybe next Season for Scotch Pines, or a Cennen Arms Meet...........all I need to find is a decent hireling and remember what an English saddle feels like!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm in training for the freezing conditions up at the Pines, I was always blue with cold at the end of a day up there..........it would be a walk in the park now!
smile.gif

HH and Siennamum - Right, just found her passport and she is by Finalto (TB) who was standing at Ronchris Stud, Pontyates, and out of a Shire mare Llwyn Bethan who was at Goodwick, Carms. Roxy will be 11 in march, rising 2 me thinks. She is normally as good as gold, but when her head goes is a complete nutter and a danger to anyone within 100 yards
grin.gif

Let me know if she is related to either of your horses - just think, we could be family
shocked.gif

No sadly not related to my ginger one.
Sienna's mum was a TB mare by Be Friendly.
Her dad stood in Llandeilo, he was an ISH called Rock of Cashell and must have a few offspring still in that part of the world.

......I think my old mare Arian was by him! have to do some checking, but the name is familiar and the place is right.

He was a lovely horse - jumped to Grade B, but his career was cut short when his rider was tragically killed. The farmer who owned him was called Trigg I think. If he is your mare's sire I'll get some pics online.
there were a few youngsters by him around in that part of the world, but they were mega bolshy & irish - perfect for me!!

I know of this guy called Trigg, one of the girls on my yard used to ride and work for him many years ago - mainly SJ yard I believe. She had some very good things to say about him. If you need any info I would be happy to help
smile.gif

Awwww, look at Rox!!!
grin.gif
Last time i saw her, she was being extremely well behaved in the menage! Hooligan!
grin.gif

Glad it all went relatively well though! Did you not ride??

Lou. x
smile.gif

Did I ride? Dont be daft woman, do you think Im nuts?
grin.gif
Cassy is off with DDFT, I wouldnt be able to hold the shire and his attitude, Freds still got issues and Im too unfit having not ridden in 2 months
frown.gif
I was just the driver Lou - glad I didnt too after seeing what Sue went through. Roxy reared for the first time, she also spun and dropped her shoulder, she has never actually deliberately tried to get anyone off before.
