Can anyone help me out with the layout of Llanymynech event? We're doing the Intro on saturday and looking at the timetable looks like we're going to be fairly early on, so will be a very early start for us, so I'm trying to judge how long I need to walk/run (not fast!

) the XC and SJ?

Is it well set out with everything fairly close to the car park or do I need to allow extra time to trek from one bit to the next?

Also, can anyone give a quick run down on what might be in the Intro XC?

Thanks!

when I was there last, the SJ was in the next door field (along with secretary, marquees etc) to the lorry park... and the xc just outside of the lorry park.

Will take no time at all to get to the secretary and have a look at your Sj course but from what I can remember the xc isn't the most compact and may take some time to walk. Just give yourself plenty of time, always better to be safe than late !

That's very helpful - thank you!
We're already looking at at 4am alarm call, so the quicker I can get it all walked the better really!

no problem

will be a nice early one for me too I think...

as far as the intro goes... it looked very straightforward, nothing technical but there are two waters, one of which is surrounded by trees so can be a little spooky. A friend of mine took her 5yr old for her first intro and got round clear having never gone xc before..

the xc is quite a walk away from everything else but the showjumping is close. Also the dressage is a bit of walk away so i'd leave a bit of extra time for that. It is a fab a event and even with the little rain we've had the ground should still be good as its quite sandy underneath. It was my second intro and we got round fine, really inviting and as p0ggi0 said, the first water is a bit spooky but thats about it.
I have an early wake up call too, about 5am though not as early as you!

yeah, the XC is pretty easy there - there was a corner last year & as everyone else says, there are 2 waters although as its been so dry there won't be much of one of them haha.
SJ last year was miniscule if that's any help lol.

Brilliant, miniscule SJing is just what we need at the moment! We've not had the best of preparations for this event with Ned taking out a couple of weeks with a bruised foot.

Good luck everyone who's going. I wasn't exactly brilliant at getting up at 5.30 this morning to ride before work, so I'm not sure how I expect to do this 4am thing?

I didnt think the SJ was on the small side, then again it was my first Novice so everything looked huge! Though if i remember rightly, they year before i did the intro and it wasnt big.
5am start for me on sunday!
