I know the straw needs to come in but 11.10pm!! I just told OH to go to bed so he went out to turn lights of and the contractors have just brought in another load of straw the 6th today. OH is up again at 5.30 to milk.
I guess it means I spend a bit more time on here but my eyes are nearly closed.

There are a lot of night owls on here! I went of to my bed. OH said we can,t complain as it is lovely and dry, and hopes that the other 6 loads get here in the dry.
I don't if it is good or bad if you have a partner that works all hours depends on the partner! I know when i worked for someone else I sometimes used to wish for rain so i could catch up on sleep, getting food ect.

Same here on edge of the Fens every baler seems to be flat out. Came home from the theatre on Tuesday night to find 2 very large tractors with every light going bouncing across the fields behind us. When we first came in the house was fully lite from behind it looked like we had left every light on! Never seen a field baled so fast. Making the super sized rectangular bales. They left about 1am and head off to fields further away from here but could still see the lights bouncing along. Heaven knows what time they stopped. Guess trying hard to get it baled before the rain came and boy did it.

we'd be the first to complain when there isn't any hay and straw so we should be grateful that the contractors and farmers will work daft hours to get the baling done;)

Some near me had it done mid week, those that didnt now have to wait for it to dry as thurs / friday was a wash out. Farmers now not happy as wanted next crop in my now so when it drys they will be out like mad. I was hoping for some stubble fields but those who have baled have next crop in already!
