Looking for someone to come and help me with my 5yo thoroughbred who is not very good to load.If anyone knows someone they could recommend would be great.
I paid £350 for 3 hours tuition. I had 1 session and then he leaves you homework. You can ring him for support and advice (which I did) and I think he guarantes his work for 3 months as long as you keep with the programme.
I couldn't load my horse at all and now I can go anywhere on my own. After his visit everything changed, if it wasn't for RM I wouldn't have Mick now.
I have used Michael Peace he was fab v calm and patient, no force used whatsoever, she does not respond well to people trying to force her to do something she doesn't want too! My pony was one of the worst horses he had ever had! He came twice over year or two that is how bad she was...and she full on kicked him in the leg how embarassing! He said he had one like her at home....and leaves it in the field! I had to spend weeks practising loading her and learning different techniques as she is a clever little sod! What does your horse do?
he isnt dangerous, does'nt kick or anything like that.He just roots himself at the bottom of the ramp or on it.I can get him on eventually but it can take an hour.I just want to get on top of it for next season when he starts eventing.I am not soft with him at all but i do not want o bully or be rough with him as he is such a nice horse.I have 3 others all go on fine and the lorry is brand new so not like he is being loaded on something dark/small/dangerous
i'm sure you tried lots of stuff, but we had TD who would just planted himself at bottom of ramp and no matter how much you wanted and encouraged him up.................nar he did it at his own pace.
But we did find key basically we tried to loaded him as you would a normally horse, using a long line as lead rope, horse at bottom of ramp, we would stand in lorry chat and eating carrot, he was so nosey that whooosssssssssss mate in he popped we have now got it down to about 10mins
Have a look at Intelligent Horsemanship - specialist horse training - there should be someone in your area who could help you along the same lines as Micheal Peace or Richard Maxwell
