So, I was planning on taking my pony out to our first show today but she had other ideas

I hired a trailer a few weeks ago to take her to a local arena and she waltzed straight in with no worries. It was a different story on the way back and she tried it on by rearing and being a general pain, but 5 minutes later had loaded and home we went. She seemed to travel well both ways and wasn't stressed / sweaty on arrival and came off calmly.

Today, she went nuts when I asked her to load. Loads of rearing and pulling. I had a control halter on which didn't help me at all. We ended up putting her in a chifney and she was still a complete madam. My experienced YM had taken over by this point but we had to stop as she was in danger of hurting us and herself.

This is about the hundreth time that she has battered my confidence and I know I can't deal with this myself. So I need some 'professional' help.

Any ideas? I've looked at Richard Maxwell but he is pretty expensive (in addition to me paying to hire the trailer ) The way I'm felling right now I would happily sell her, but as my OH said, I'll have to hack her to her new owners

Get Richard Maxwell out and sell tickets to watch - someone else did that on here and I think it's a great idea. I am sure you will find folk willing to pay £10 to watch him do his thing.

Monday I'm going to a three day clinic with Dave Stuart for this very thing. He comes highly recommended and I know he does clinics around the country, so you may well be able to do something with him?

Take a look at Jason Webb, www.australianhorsetraining.co.uk, his manager Sarah Muir will answer the phone, she knows her stuff too - once Jason's been out your be fine, plus Sarah always supports you with any help you need moving on from that session - they're a great team. I've known lots of horses Jason's loaded and after one session they've loaded well ever since, he's on horse hero if you want to see videos of him working and he has a loading download video available on his website for only £5 - well worth taking a look!
