Loading help!

Hello everyone I am moving yards this weekend (long story involving family etc plus the new place is going to be much better lon term and it has a shorter commute for me) basically I have never successfully loaded dizzy! She came here on a trailer and they had a nightmare getting her on (she panicked and fell down ramp) she travelled ok but since hates it! And it's about 45mins to persuade her to walk on and off a trailer.
The lady I have booked for transport is super understanding and is coming very early in the morning so we have no distractions! We are also moving yards with mine and dizzys best horsey friend who loads perfectly so hopefully dizzy will see her mate and be a little easier! We are also using a horse box not trailer which will hopefully be easier as well!
Is there anything you guys can advise me to do beforehand to set this up to be a successful as possible! You never know haha she may surprise me!!
 
Try not to stress & be patient

There is not much time now to practice but is there anyone on yard that has a lorry
or trailer that you can practice with between now & the weekend

I had a bad loader & we got there in the end, we just kept having a go every day
feeding by trailer & then getting nearer & eventually now , now he just walks on - everyone will have different ways it's just finding the right one for you

Someone at the yard uses a chifney - horse won't load without, puts chifney on - head collar on top, lead rope attached to head collar not chifney & he walks on so no extra pressure applied from chifney - it's like he knows he's going somewhere when it's on
 
google Eddy Modde on YouTube - he uses a technique of just tapping the horse on the croup (not hitting, just an irritating sort of tapping) with a schooling whip when it plants or pulls backwards, wheich you instantly stop when the horse makes a forward movement. Took 15 minutes to load our reluctant loader the first time, 10 the second time, now if he plants we just sigh and get the schooling whip, and he changes his mind and marches straight in.....
 
Oh my god thank you guys will have all of these on hand!!! Yes my friend is letting us have a practise on Friday just going to feed her around it hopefully get her to walk on but not going to put the pressure on too much because a disaster will put us both on edge for Saturday!!! Thank you again!
 
i'm sure you will anyway but make sure she is all properly suited and booted/bandaged especially if she was going to be silly.......never forget when a lovely mare slipped on a ramp on the way back from stud and sliced her tendons
 
Don't worry LRR I am going to the tack shoo on Friday to get her all the protection she needs :) I would never forgive myself if something happened to her!!
 
The different surface bit does make a difference as I found with loading my mare on Sunday. Every questions for her was difficult be it the hardboard, the ramp or having her feet in the lorry .... perserverence patience and plenty of time ..... and you'll succeed!
