loading, horse will walk in to box?

Dear all, i have a 16.3 4yo. i bought as weanling traveled home in a trailer. as a 2 year old would load but would not come out the front ramp when he did touched his side and decided he would rather revese out! no problem only did 2 shows with him that year last year must have used the trailer 10 times , just going up the rd for practice n a few shows, he always went with my pony as could not leave her in the field on her own, now this year he loads walks right in the trailer but shoots out back wards befor you can put the rear bar up! allways done things for food rather than force, he will hack on his own so not coming away from the others issue, So what do i do?? starting to get irritated now me not the horse lol. He has always travelled well, nothing nasty ever happend, i know its illegal, but have always sat in with them as they are both only babies x Any ideas please x dont really want to get heavy handed as he is bigger than me x
 
we have very recenly had a lot of problems with loading.. whats your horses temperment like.. ashley (my horse).. just didnt want to go..
put the trailer in the yard.. let him loose.. (did watch).. and let him work out where his dinner and breakfast was.. in the middle of the trailer.. as he was eating i would pull it foward and then close the back, leave the front open so he could go out as he liked.. then after about 10 times.. closed the front.. mucked out.. opened it and let him out..
also.. this weekend went to an event.. firrst time after problems.. lay a lunge rope on the floor to just say.. i am here if you get iffy.. and he went in no probs.. dont know if this will work with yours.. does he seem scared or just naughty??

so far hes pretty trusting just backed him n no bother at all, in fact laid back! when he was younger he seemed a little worried by most things, i just dont know why he will walk up the ramp in to the box n just shoot out i dont get it n its not like any thing bad has happend or hes being asked to do some thing that he has never done. he cant be scared of the box coz he will go in? the idea was yours feed him get the back up n leave him a few mins b4 we let him out, just cant shut him in lol!
 
Its a Bateson Deauville so should take 2 x 17hh i got the Bateson as they have the inderpendent suspension. its the same trailer i have had for the past 2 years. though guess he was only 15.1 when he first used it lol.
