decided after a few months of looking after this pony to try load her today onto a trailer, i was told about 3-5 years ago she was sedated twice to get her in by the vet!

everyone knows this horse to kick, bite and generally knows her as a nasty pony, but thats only because she is in the wrong hands, she now trusts me, neighs, comes galloping over when i get her from the field etc.

Anyway i let her sniff and walk around the car and trailer with it all locked up still, i then opened the jockey door and let her sniff in there and then pulled down the ramp, i was expecting her to not even go near it maybe even rear, well... She walked up to it like no ones business and put her front hooves straight on, i rewarded her and after a few times of that she put all 4 feet on and was almost in the trailer!!!

As anyone got any tricks or ideas for me to try get her all on, without lunge lines or whips behind her

She sounds like a lovely pony and sounds if she has a wonderful relationship with you. My boy can be funny every now and then to load so what i do is lead him over the ramp in a circle a few times just to show him that the trailer, or ramp won't hurt him and then after doing this a few times he normally loads well. (I open the partion up for him as he doesn't like tight or small spaces). Sometimes i will have a bucket of feed and i will put the bucket of feed in the trailer (not to far away) and then slowly he will come forward to eat the feed then after having a munch on the feed move the bucket closer to the front untill he completely on. Can take a long time but aslong as you patient and calm always works for me :D

Also Don't pull on headcollar or push from behind as a lot of horses and ponies will go backwards and panic like my boy!

bribe with treats or feed etc just take your time keep calm and practise and ones in reward lots also if you can open the partition :) although sometimes i get fed up with this as does take alot of time when he is not in the mood for loading so i get my mum to walk behind with a lunge whip and hes straight in :)
try not to push in bum or pull headcoallar they just resist
and always have 2 people one leading and one at the back closing partition and box etc
 
i had her feed as she loves her feed and that worked a treat, everytime she got her feet on i gave her a mouth full of her feed, i didnt pull her or anything i just had a good contact and she ploded up.
The partition was open up from the very start which i think helped a little, and i loaded her on the side where the smaller ramp is so she could see straight through,

We got a nice little bond but she has her days, she got tickly back legs, so spraying them with fly spray or baths she kicks out lol
