Im currently trying to find a loaner for my horse whilst im away at uni. Ive put an advert on horsemart and the first couple of days i had quite a bit of interest (though none suitable or found another horse ect) And in the last 2 weeks ive had no interest at all

I really cant understand why so thought id ask you guys if you could spot anything in the advert, or something else i should include

advert link is... click here for advert

Ive just put another one on adhorse, and still need to put one in tack shop.
Is there anywhere else that isnt too expensive thats good for advertising?

Anyone else having truoble loaning their horse out or is it just me

Looks a super horse and I can understand you wanting to keep him on the same yard, however people competant enough to ride a 16hh TB within distance of the yard is going to be limited.

He is the type we would look at loaning however we have our own facilities so wouldn't consider loaning from a yard.

Your local paper is perhaps your best bet but be prepared for some timewasters.

Also being picky but I would take out the field photo as I found myself looking at the grazing and fencing, it would certainly put me off the yard.

I think quite often the requirement for a horse to stay on its current yard makes things more difficult. As Hectorgray says, you're probably limiting the scope of your advert to quite a small audience.

Equally people looking to loan a 16hh TB may well already have other horses on another yard so you take them out of the running as well.

Why are you so concerned that he stays at the same yard?

agree with field comments, also, limited by insisting kept at same yard, could you try vetting potential yards instead? other thing, emphasis on lightweight rider imediatly makes me wonder if he has back/joint problems? I'd try and reword that or take it out completely, you can always turn down people you think are too heavy.

Lovely horse, BIG BUT IS, why must he be kept at that yard? You would be much better off vetting potential loanees & yards. You are really limiting yourself! I would have taken somthing like that on loan when my boy was off work for a year, but only if he could come to my yard.

Thanks for all you replies. Want him to stay on the same yard as it less than a 5mins walk from my house so easy to see him when i come home from uni. (living at uni which is about 45-50mins away from home) and i know there are people on the yard who will look out for him. Also mum and dad down the road if needed. If i was to move him i may aswell move him to uni with me, but then when i finsih uni for the year i will have 4 months where i will b able to see him and without a car would want him on the yard he is now. Yard is a lovely quiet friedly place with access straight onto off road hacking. And hes got the best stable of the yard at 13x14ft and his own door straight out onto the field and i wouldnt want him to loose that when im off uni or the loan ends as the yard is perfect. Livery is cheap and we can all do our own things (buy own hay, straw ect)
Whilst i no YO will always let me back on (im like their daughter

) i couldnt guaretnee they had a stable for him.

I didnt have the lightweight part in but had a 2 people look who were 12st+ and hes not really a weight carrying horse. Should i take it out again then?

Will try Adtrader thanks
