So i had my old mare put to sleep about three weeks ago, and thanks for all of the replies to my 'heartbroken' post about a week before i said goodbye, alhough it was really difficult i know i did the right thing, they found a leision on her ddft that she would never have recovered from. I miss her like mad, but i'm desperate to get back into riding and looking after a horse again, i'm totally at a loss as to what to do in the evenings, the housework has never been so up to date! (plus i'm paying a retainer on my stable). i'm looking for a horse on loan, and i'm looking for any advice on the best way to find one... I've been checking HH, horsequest and horsemart - theres loads there, but generally are all ponies or hundreds of miles away (i'm in the midlands and dont mind travelling a bit) and need at least 16hh but other then that i'm not picky, just want a horse that i can have a bit of fun with, bit of local dressage/jumping/hacking etc anyone got any other ideas of where i can look?

Thanks in advance!

where abouts in the midlands, i have a horse for loan in stoke-on-trent, he's a star at hacking and would prob school for dressage but not jump i'm afraid, pm my if you're interested ;-)
