We have a pony on loan to us & we have been trying to send him home for the last few months to no avail, i was getting no response to emails i was sending the owner & getting more & more frustrated with the situation. So i threw all my toys out of the pram & told them they had until the end of August to either agreed for him to be re-loan or sold or i would be bringing him home this weekend, well i did finally get a response, they cant have him home & he would have to be sold, & it was pointed out that the loan agreement i signed said this, & ive actually checked it & their right, it doesn't mention a thing about him being returned but it does say if we no longer want him we could sell him on their behalf. Which is all fine & dandy, but with all the best will in the world I'm never going to be able to sell him for what they want, so does this mean I'm going to be stuck with him forever? Hes a 12hh show pony, whose got loads of wins in-hand as a youngster, he was broken at 4 & is now 8 & hasn't done a thing since, no riding no showing no nothing & they want £3k for him. I think its a total unrealistic price given the current market, i think they will struggle to even get half that in all honesty. So where does that leave me, surely I'm perfectly within my rights to return him?
This is the second loan we've had that's gone totally t1ts up, & wont even bother you with details of the other, which is also ongoing & worse than this one, i really do think some people just like taking the p155! This is definitely the last time we loan anything!
