Loan agreement...

Hi,
When loaning a horse out, what happens to the passport? does it go with the horse or stay with the owner?

depends if the loanee want to compete- if so then they should have it

the passport has to go with the horse. It is irrelevant whether or not the loanee is going to compete. The law states the passport must be kept with the horse so it can be surrended to someone authorised to ask for it: Police, trading standards, vets etc.

I have the passport for my loan pony (actually after 2 months we're about to buy her, she's so perfect for my daughter), but the loan was initially for 6 months to be reviewed by both parties at 3 months.

I have the passport for my loan horse as well, it came with the loan agreement.
