We have- had a year long saga with a young TB. Ups and downs, do we/dont we sell her etc,so we have decided to offer her out to loan while my daughter does her A'levels and make the decision about selling her at a later date - we have broached this with a couple of the enqirers. We have had several calls and once family have been to try her twice and seem to fit the bill, the girl was an excellent rider and seemed to 'click' quite well. Any hoo I now need to start thinking about a loan agreement.
I am going to list and decribe all tack, the condition of the horse, require full insurance and state whatI expect in terms of farrier/worming/teeth checks. I am going to put that I can visit at any resonable time and may take the horse without notice if any welfare concerns. But what sort of timescale if we just wanted her back, and likewise how much notice would I ask if they wished to return her. We are not on livery so I was thinking no less than two weeks notice at a time convenient to us, and that they should transport her (obviously in an emergency I would have her back sooner).
I am going to suggest an initial three months period to be extended by three or six months at a time depending on how she is getting on.
Any other pointers greatfully received.
