Hello
I'm just reviewing my loan contract, (as Owner) and wondered if any of you who successfully loan out your horses would be happy to share the details of your contracts. I have seen and used the BHS agreement as the basis, and added other specifics, but would like to see / hear what other people do. Thanks ..

i would show u mines gladly but i only have a paper copy as my computer recently crashed and i lost everything! and i dont have access to a scanner. mines was based on the BHS one aswell just adapted here and there to suit the specific situation

Hi I used the BHS one when I loaned a horse from someone last year, agreement was good but my only advise would be to keep the insurance in the owners name and have the loanee pay you by direct debit for the insurance. The horse I had on loan had an injury (not through any fault of mine) that took 4 months box rest whilst in my care so had to stay with me longer than intended because the insurance was in my name, had it been in the owners name she could have been returned without problem. I checked with the insurance company (NFU) the mare would not be covered once she had left my care, so had to wait until all teatment had finished until she was returned.
