im sad as hell , had a phone call 2day from my loan horse owners theyve gave me notice that they want my bessy back , im so sad ive had her on loan since last winter and shes sooo loyal, she was a 15.3 heavy blk cob type and she was a dream, i still have my other 2 horses which arw mine but ones a yearling and her mum is infoal again, so i will be looking 4 a new loan again , im just so upset im feeling like shes died .....................

oh im so sorry fro you - we had exactly the same happen last week - we were heartbroken so i know exactly how you are feeling - luckily ours was a good outcome with owner changing her mind after speaking to my vet. Any chance yours may change her mind too? x

what a shame,i worry about that happening to me with my boy im dreading it,is there no chance of you riding her now and again or is she going back full stop ?
big hugs x

Aw I am sorry to hear that as it must be a very hard to let go like that.
I sometimes think that people -no matter how well meaning they may be- don't understand just how much we can get attached to horses even those which do not belong to us.
I have a loan horse and to be honest would be absolutely gutted if the owners ever wanted him back as I have had him for a year now and I have become so attached to him and so as the cob we own that we bought just a few weeks after I got the loan horse.
I truly feel sorry for you though hugs ((((( )))))
I think to be honest you would be better off looking for another horse to own and maybe sell on in the future when your mare is rideable again or unless you are planning to keep and break the yearling?
That way you could dictate if and when you decide to pass on another horse you own rather than having a person who is loaning a horse to you dictate when they want the horse back.
Just a thought but it may save you future heartache because who is to say you won't be going through the same feelings you are right now a further 12 months down the line.

Cazx

thanks so much 4 kind words, i only had her on loan while the owner had a baby, so i knew this day would cum., im breeding from my own mare at the moment cause she so nice im keeping both the tearling and her next years foal 4 my kids and hubby , its just a long time 2 wait init, maybe i may find a cheap horse 2 buy in the winter... xxxxxxxx

On the flip side of the coin, I loaned my horse out for about a year, ages ago, and although the people who had him knew it wouldn't be forever, I found it AWFUL to ask for him back. Had to tell the mum so she could tell the daughter, I couldn't bring myself to do it.
